So here's the plan... the focus of this site will be for those of us who have had "gray moments" to be able to share these experiences. As an extra added plus, there will be an ongoing monthly contest where bloggers will automatically have their "gray moment" story entered for a chance to win a $50.00 gift card from favorite restaurants like Bob Evans, Cracker Barrell, or Applebee's. In addition to the "Gray Moment" contest, there will be a variety of links of interest for the "over 50" crowd - although you youngsters under 50 are more than welcome to visit, browse, blog, or enter the contest as well.
Keep coming back to enter and/or read "Gray Moment" stories and watch the site develop with updates, videos, and more!
I'll get the "Gray Moment" stories started by sharing one of My Gray Moments, although since this is my blog I am obviously ineligible to win the gift card.
The Missing Kaiser Roll
I sat at my desk at lunch time and sliced the first of two kaiser rolls in half, then sliced up some tomatoes and mozzarella cheese and made a sandwich. Once the first sandwich was made it was only a matter of a few minutes before it was devoured - delicious!
Before I was able to prepare the second sandwich I was interrupted, which is typical during my lunch, and had to leave my office for about 35 minutes. Once I got back to my desk I noticed the second kaiser roll had been sliced in half and one half was missing. I looked all around my desk, under my desk, and all around the office. No top half to the kaiser roll! I know I didn't eat it because it was to be part of the second sandwich. Did I buy one and-a-half rolls? I don't think so.
Who took the top half of my kaiser roll? I had serious doubts that any of the four people at work would do such a thing, let alone enter my office while I was not there. Was I losing my marbles? Slowly each of the possible suspects were cleared of any wrongdoing and the mystery of the missing kaiser roll has still not been solved after more than eight weeks.
